Hypnosis and a New Perspective

Hypnosis and hypnotherapy can be powerful tools to help people work through mental health issues. Psychedelics such as ketamine and DMT can also be helpful in this regard. The most useful experience with these substances seems to come from a position of allowing the patient to have an experience that challenges their beliefs or their view of reality.

New Perspective

Because the problem is that we get stuck in our way of thinking, it can become very hard for us to take on new ways of thinking. We may not be aware of other ways of thinking, or we may not believe that other ways are possible. It can be difficult to change our thinking because it is so deeply ingrained in our habits and beliefs.

And likewise, many people have had experiences that are life-changing. Whether that’s reading a book or seeing a piece of art that changes your perspective. Or could be traveling to a place with a culture very different from which you’re used to, different scenery or different histories. Or could be a very thrilling experience like skydiving or diving in the ocean, which leads you to change your perspective on life and how you prioritize things. It could even be a major life event, like children growing up and moving out of the house, or losing a job, or even the unexpected death of a loved one, which can all change our perspective in a new way of looking at things.

I think that’s also one of the key reasons that the hypnosis approach is so powerful for people. Because in the hypnotic state of mind, a person is able to safely experience different ways of being. We can create a safe place to imagine what it would be like if I were to change my priorities, or to think about things differently. More importantly, not only can we experiment with different ways of viewing reality, but we can also experience how that would allow us to feel. Often the shifts in reality that we need allows us to feel so much lighter and freer. To be able to experiment with how much more energizing or positive it feels to take a more productive direction is a powerful tool.

So as you think about the challenges that you face and the difficult issues that you don’t seem to be able to get any traction with, it’s important to ask: how do I need to change my perspective? What kind of change in perspective would allow me to find a solution to this problem? This is a difficult question to answer without knowing more about the specific problem you are facing. However, in general, it may be helpful to think about the issue from different angles, or consider other people’s perspectives on the issue. It may also be helpful to imagine what you would do if you were in a different situation, or how someone else would handle the problem. By doing this, you may be able to come up with new ideas or solutions.
